Available Meeting Spaces

The Elsie Palmgren Oltedale Community Center, dedicated in 2011, was built with a grant from the Champlin Foundations and donations from West Greenwich residents

  • Fully handicapped accessible, including restrooms
  • Main Room is 32’ x 33’and has a maximum 100 person occupancy, > 60 seated is a tight fit
  • (11) moveable 30” x 72” tables, (1) fixed 95 x 43” table, 75+ chairs
  • Kitchen with refrigerator, stove, microwave oven
  • AV system with blue ray player and dedicated laptop
  • Wifi

The Large Activities Room, located in the library basement has a restroom and a rubber floor

  1. Furniture scaled for young children and large plastic toys
    a. (2) 72” X 30” low tables
    b. 20 + tiny chairs
  2. Furniture scaled for adults
    a. (5) 60” x 30” tables
    b. 50 chairs

The Small Activities Room and/or Kitchen: these rooms are not separated by a door so either one or both may be used.

  1. Kitchen (very well lit)
    a. (2) 60” x 30” tables
    b. (10) chairs
    c. Counter top with double sink
  2. Small Activities Room
    a. (2) Large tables 120” x 42” which comfortably seat 10 people each
    b. Smaller tables and additional chairs available

If you would like to reserve one of the above spaces please familiarize yourself with the following documents, copies may be downloaded from this website or requested from the Library. Completed forms may be sent to louttitlibrary@gmail.com.

      3. Applications: there are three different applications, if you have any questions about which one you should use, please contact the library for clarification.
        a.    West Greenwich Resident for a Nonprofit Community Group Application (no charge)
        b.    West Greenwich Resident Private Party Application * ($100 fee, $50 refundable damage deposit)
        c.    Non-West Greenwich Resident for a Nonprofit Community Group Application ($100 fee, $50 refundable damage deposit)
        d.    *only West Greenwich residents may host private parties in library spaces
      4. No rooms will be calendared or reserved until: 1. the appropriate Application has been submitted and reviewed, 2. The Clean-Up Responsibilities Check List has been reviewed, and signed and 3. fees and deposits have been submitted, if required. The Louttit Library Board of Trustees is the final authority for use of all facilities and reserves the right to determine their use, to assess fees for their use and to cancel or reschedule all arrangements at its discretion, with or without cause or reason, and without liability. Preference is given to official town, police department and library functions/events.
